I am a Christian educator with 40 years of experience in ministry, who loves helping people grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ!
In 1976, I became a believer in Jesus Christ during my first year in college at the University of California in Los Angeles. A couple years later, I experienced the beauty and power of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Soon, after my initial conversion, I realized God was calling me into ministry. Later in 1984, I completed the three years of my seminary education by earning my Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York. As I began serving on pastoral staffs of historic African American churches doing Bible teaching and preaching ministry, I became even more passionate about how I could deepen my own experience with God. I immersed myself in prayer, and praise and worship ministries within the Black Pentecostal tradition. Then I discovered while earning my Doctor of Ministry degree at Azusa Pacific University, the teachings about the wonderful Christian spiritual disciplines, found in the authors of the Christian Spiritual Formation movement. I learned to deepen my awareness of the presence of God, moment by moment, in the busyness of my everyday life. I learned how to meditate and pray God's Scriptures and receive the power and peace of God's Holy Spirit, within the Lord's written Word. I hope to share with you what I have learned, especially a spiritual discipline I call, "Logging in with God". My goal is that you will learn how to joyfully connect with God more and more, moment by moment, in your everyday life,
no matter how busy and full of distractions your day may become. In 2022 I completed my Doctor of Ministry degree at the Azusa Pacific Seminary of the Azusa Pacific University.
I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior. I believe His love, grace and forgiveness are freely available to anyone who will trust in Him as their personal Savior and Lord. We can connect deeply with Jesus moment by moment, as we learn to meditate on His glory, in His written words of the Bible, especially in the New Testament.
I serve on the pastoral staff of a wonderful Christian church - West Angeles Church of God in Christ - as the Director of Christian Education and Bible College President. I serve and worship with an exciting, loving, fervent and predominantly African American, traditional Pentecostal Christian community. I am also blessed to be engaged with Christians of many different traditions, denominations, and cultures, especially through my relationships with Azusa Pacific University, Vanguard University, and Fuller Theological Seminary.
